Rules

Every photo submission must abide by the guidelines of Picture Perfect.

This contest is open to both amateur and professional photographers. However, images should be free of any watermark, copyrights, logos, or advertisements. There is no monetary cost to submit a photo in the Picture Perfect photo contest, to vote, or to participate in the chat. Any past winning images may not be submitted again. AI-generated content is prohibited. All submitted images must be appropriate. Any offensive images will be disqualified. By submitting a photo in the contest, entrants agree to the terms of use and give the contest organizer the right to post the photo for voting and/or in a gallery.

Entrants must be 18 years or older as of the date of entry. All photo submissions must be original work created by the entrant. Photos must be submitted by the 15th of the current month to be considered for the following month’s contest. All image submissions must be formatted in a jpg, gif, or png file. The size limitation for photograph submissions is 1 MB per image. Every entrant is allowed to submit just one photo per category per month. There are three available categories that an entrant can submit a photo of which are animals, nature, and food. Each category has the following guidelines listed below.

Animals

Images in this category must be of a living animal. Images of animals that can be classified as amphibians, birds, fish, insects, mammals, or reptiles are allowed to be entered. Images should not include humans. Images of household pets and farm animals are permitted. Photographers should strive to capture the natural features, details, and personality of the animal in the image. All images must be respectful of the animal and the environment. Any images in which an animal or the environment is disturbed, staged, or harmed will be disqualified.

Nature

Images in this category must be taken outdoors in the natural environment. Examples of images in this category would include, but are not limited to, landscapes, sunsets, plants, bodies of water, and the night sky. Images that include wildlife in their natural habitat would also be permitted in this category if the wildlife is not the focal point of the image. (Images that focus of wild animals should be submitted in our animal category.) The environment should not be manipulated or disturbed in any way while capturing the image. Photographers should strive to cultivate feelings of awe and wonder of the world among viewers.

Food

Images in this category can include any type of food from any culture. Images can be of food anywhere in its journey from its natural source to a finished product. Examples of images in this category include, but are not limited to fresh produce, ingredients, meals, desserts, and beverages. The image is allowed to be creatively styled and presented in any way. Backgrounds can be lavish or simple. Props are permitted. Photographers can use techniques such as lighting to enhance colors, textures, and details. The photographer should strive to capture the appetizing beauty of culinary art.
